Pink salmon start to migrate into the Kitimat River in mid July and the run continues through August. Pinks can also be caught in the salt water of the Douglas Channel throughout July and August.
Pinks also referred to as “Humpys” (the male have a predominate hump on their back) are a great salmon to catch on fly.  Pink Salmon would be a great fight with 4 or 5 weight rod but use a 6 weight while fishing for Pinks because there are 30lb Chum lurking in the river during the same time.
Pinks have become a favourite fishery for family groups especially amongst the younger kids. The smiling faces of the kids speaks for itself.
